OOOoo We're Halfway There! (The CCM that is)

General Información
Yesterday marked the 3 week milestone, which means that in 19 days I'll be leaving the ol' CCM for the beautiful (and from what I have heard from locals, a little sketchy) city of Queretaro! Wow! I am thoroughly enjoying live here at the CCM, with the 3 meals a day and Kit Kat bars for only 30 cents, but missions are about people and I am anxious to get out there and start serving! Especially because it doesn't take speaking Spanish to do service week. That being said, we went to the temple today and I did the whole session in Spanish! I accidentally wore a short sleeve white shirt to the temple so I had to rent one, and the one they gave me hit about halfway on my forearms and the neck was too big, but that didn't stop me from feeling the Spirit! It almost makes falling asleep during the session when you are constantly trying to translate what you are hearing. I didn't understand everything, and by the end I felt like my brain was melting, but I got enough of it to make it through the session! Barely! But we made it! Also next week I should have a P-day where I don't have the temple or 7 hours at a Migration center, so I can hopefully email those of you back who I haven't yet. With the CCM you never know, but I have my fingers crossed.

Kentucky Rain
This past week it rained everyday and not just like sprinkles, I am talking enough to drowned out the voice of our teacher in our classroom. Coming from Utah where sprinklers are the closest thing you see to rainfall, it's been a little exciting to see all the rain. One day it came down especially hard and turned our little cul-de-sac into a pond, so we rolled up our pants, carried our shoes and went barefoot to class. Memorable to say the least. It's all reminiscent of the days in Kentucky where my mom, my 3 brothers and I would hide in the closet of our home because we were worried a tornado was about to hit. Very peaceful if you ask me. But here the worry is more about earthquakes so I guess I can find comfort in that. Maybe?

The Mosquito Epidemic
That being said, with all the rain has come A LOT of mosquitos. I knew it was bad when I woke up and turned on the shower one morning, and 5 or 6 giants ones gently flew out to say good morning. That same day we had accidently left our windows open to our classroom overnight so we had about 40 of them to say good afternoon. Took a good partition of our devotional to clear them down to a manageable number, but Zika virus turned out to be a pretty good motivator to get rid of them. All this being said, missionaries are definitely protected, because I have yet to get a bite, knock on wood.

El Fin
Everyday I find more things to love about life as a missionary. From scriptures, devotionals and temple trips, the Spirit is strong as work. I feel my Spanish improving each day, and hope that I can be prepared to be the missionary the Lord wants me to be. My Spanish won't be perfect in any way, but the Holy Ghost is there to help fill in the cracks. Miss you all, and hope the cold treating you alright. Save a little snow for me!
