Big hola to everyone as I am back after going a little MIA in these past weeks. It's been busy around here so I couldn't find the time to write, but coming to the end of such a substancial year in my life, I felt the need to squeeze in a little email as the day winds to an end.
The Fashion Trend of Exploding-Ink Alarms
This past Wednesday my seconf and last Christmas party this with all mission together. It was nice to see many familar faces, and overall it was a fun way to celebrate Christmas in the mission. Now obviously, with the whole mission coming everyone wants to dress up nice, and my black suit that is now sun-bleached brown just didn't seem ideal. So, that Monday I had gone with some Christmas money and bought myself a new suit. Everything was great, I had facetimed my Mom to help me pick it out and didn't look like it belonged in the DI so all postives. That is until I got to the house, put it on and felt a little ball on the sleeve. To my lovely suprise, the cashier had forgetten to take of the exploding-ink alarm. Oh boy. BUT, I was not about to let that damper my jolly spirit, and to my Mom's probable horror, was not about to let me stop me from wearing it. So I showed up to the party with the suit, exploding-ink alarm and all. Luckily it was kind of hidden on the arm of the suit, and no one real noticed, as I am sure that would have brought up an intresting conversation. In the photos I don't think you can see it either, but you all can look at them and be the judge ;)
El Fin de 2019
Coming to the end of my full year in the mission, I can not believe the changes I have felt within myself. Through all the accomplishes and probably even more thanks to my many errores, I have seen how our loving Heavenly Father has shaped me more into the person He wants me to be. There is nothing in this world that I would've rather done this year than serve my God, and testify of the gospel of His son and our Savior Jesus Christ. Through it I have joy, in the best of days and in the darkest of nights. And as I have seen in the lives of countless people here, it will always bring joy to our lives, no matter what our circumstances. Maybe not every person ends up being a baptizm statistic, but to everyone it has and will always be able to shine a little light through the darkness. And it with this same light that I can start this new year, and have the confidence in that the Lord's hand will never be far. Wishing you all a happy New Year, and may this year been even better than the last. Love you all!
