Hello all! Apologies I haven't written for a little, but we are back on track for today. It's been a really productive few weeks; lots of looking for people and setting up for a baptism we are going to have this Saturday! I have only 2 weeks left here in Colinas so we are giving it our all to finish the change on a high note!
Cucho
Over the past month we have been teaching a man named Bernardo who goes by the nickname "Cucho". Honestly, I have no idea what Cucho means and from I have understood, neither does anyone else as no one can give me a cohesive answer. But, Cucho is a great man and it has been such a spiritual experience for me to see his progression. He is the brother of a recent convert, and has suffered a lot in his life. In some of our first lessons we explained to him about how grand of relieve and peace the repentance process brings to our lives, and how much it would bring to his. Little by little I have seen him grown that desire for a new start, and yesterday he told us that he ready to take the step this Saturday to having a new page in his life. I know that living the gospel changes lives, and I have seen his live change day by day, leading him to taking this first step towards his loving Heavenly Father.

We have been letting a lot of people go in our teaching group lately, which is a hard but necessary part of the mission. With that being the case that has driven us to look like crazy for new people who we can invite to come unto Christ. On Wednesday afternoon we were visiting a little town away from the city, and we had to wait at the bus stop to catch a ride back. While there, we felt prompted to start talking to this lady beside us. We started off a little conversation, classic topics like weather and why I was obviously very far from my home, before we made the jump to talking about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Well, she was just excited as you would imagine a lifelong and die-hard catholic would be. We ended the conversation pleasantly though right as the bus showed up, got on and took a seat. A few minutes into the ride, a young lady I had not seen but was also there waiting at the bus stop got up from her seat in front of us and sat beside us. What was already a surprising move became even more so as she asked "What are you guys doing here?" After answering a few questions, we learned that she had just moved from Mexico City a few months ago and had always seen missionaries over there. But for one reason or another she had never talked to anyone, that being until today. We talked the whole trip, and set a date to go by and visit her again. As we parted ways, I was so grateful for the tender mercy that our Heavenly Father had gifted us. Also it was just another testament to me that Heavenly Father will always bless us, but no always in the way we expect.
The Best Woman in the World
While Valentine's Day was this last week, this week is the holiday that I have the most love for: my Mom's birthday. Truly, I cannot thank her enough, as any good thing I have done or I am all comes from her. I remember so vividly as a kid when she would read Harry Potter to my brothers and I at night, tuck us in and then wake up early to make me a bottle of chocolate milk. From banaids after bike crashes and hugs and kiss after disappoints, she has always been there for me. I love her with all my heart, and thanks to her and my Dad I have been raised in a spiritually strong and happy eternal family, and I can't wait for the eternites that lay ahead of us together. Love you Mom!!

This last week I hit 16 months in the mission. Time keeps moving, and I can't wait to talk to you all next week! Love you all and have a great week!
