ZOCO
August 26, 2019
General Información
We have reached the halfway mark of the change this week, and with on Friday we got to have good old zoco (zone conference in slang for all the youth out there). It was super good, we talked a lot about obidience to every rule of the mission, and how with
it the Lord will bless us more than we can imagine. Like it says in John 14:15, if we love the Lord, we will keep His commandments, and I have a very strong testimony that as I have grown more love for Him, and that my relationship with Him has gotten stronger,
so has my desire to be 100% obediente. I feel His love for me when I do everything I can to be as obediente as possible, and it's a feeling unlike any other.
The Labor of Love
Another subject that I have seen a lot of this week comes from Mosiah 2:17, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." At the beginning of the week we walked past some people who we had talked to last week,
and saw the Mom and her daughters digging up the grass of their yard. Elder Guitérrez and I quickly got the shovel from them, and taught them the lesson about the Restoration while taking turns digging up the yard. And then just today we got to go over to
help clean the house of one of our neighbors. He is an older man who had some depression problems, so his siblings had come to help get him on his feet, and put his house in order. Luckily, we met them Sunday in the morning, and the next morning we were in
the little house rubbing shoulders as we cleaned all morning. As we finsihed the project, one of the brothers trapped me and another Elder there in a room and told us how much it meant to him that we were helping his brother, and then asked us for a copy of
the Book of Mormon because he wanted to read it. As the scripture says, service really is the best way to express love, and that love was tangable at all times when we were blessed with the chance to help someone else. Speical moments, with friendships made
in a few hours that will last a lifetime.
