General Información
Yes, I know this is techically the second week June, but I didn't get the chance to write last week and so I am not going to count it. I know, unfair and I am just twisting time for the benefit of a somewhat snappy subject line, but we are going to go
with it. Anyway, summer has started here in San Juan del Rio, and honestly I couldn't tell you the difference between summer and winter here, as my VERY prominent watch tanline has become a living testimony that our best bud, the sun, and his ever so notable
presense. I think I am very doomed to wear a watch after my mission, because I truly have no idea how I am going to get rid of it. But, that's a problem that I am okay with dealing with.
Winning a Chocolate Chip Cookie from Holland (week late edition)
Two weeks ago Holland came and it was such a cool experience that I saved to write about it until I had a little more time. That being said, 2 weeks is enough time to forget some of the details, so I will just share a few simple and powerful truths that
impacted me from his visit. First off, he truly is a apostle of God. A statement we hear many times, but to hear and to experience are 2 very different things, and I can testify now from experience that it is true. From the moment he stepped out of the mom
van that delivered him to the chapel, and gave us a very warm "hola", you could feel the power and the spirit that he brought. This spirit stayed with us for the whole meeting, and transformed the messages of Holland into something more than words, it was
a feeling that etched itself into the heart of all those who heard. And that is the feeling that I carry in my heart now, that this is the TRUE church of God. While Holland is a leader, this is not his church, it is the church of our Savior Jesus Christ. But
it is through his chosen servant like Holland that we hear His voice, and feel His love. I felf so much love from Holland, and he taught us that we need to share this love with EVERYONE. He shared John 3 and 4 with us to teach it, and then asked what we could
learn from this chapter, I raised my hand and said that the Gospel was for everyone, and he then gave me a huge smile and told me "You Elder win a chocolate chip cookie, and a golden sticker on your forehead!" Words I will forever remember, and probably will
ask to have etched onto my gravestone. All in all, a very, very special moment, and a testimony of this church.
El Fin
Not much else to say than other than I am happy, and that I know this church is true with all my heart. Hope you are all doing well, and I will talk to you all next week!
