20, wait... 20?!!

General Información

HELLLOO to all of you wonderfully wonderful people from the city of the arches. We are at the end of my first full week here in the one and only Querétaro, and I honestly love the city. Part of it may be that there are 4 ice cream parlors within 5 minutes walking of our house, but we will wait to see if in a few weeks that is still a positive; my health is nervous but my heart is happy. But, apart from the possible dairy-caused diabetes, we had a ton of work this week, with a baptizm lined up for this coming Friday, and I am excited to see what this week has in store. 

The Elder of Pop

Being the newbie in the area, there was a lot of greetings and introductions with the investigatores who have already been in teaching. One of these people was a family of 3 kids and their grandmother, as we had a lesson with them Friday night. Obviously they noticed I was new, and so they asked for my name and I told them my name was Elder Jackson. With that came the very classic response, "Jackson? Like Micheal Jackson??" Honestly, I have had that same statement said to me so many times that it has kind of become the response I expect. But, what followed was something that is not as normal, as to start the lesson the youngest of the kids, him being 9 years old, offered the prayer. During it he said "Heavenly Father please bless Elder Wimsatt and his companion Micheal Jackson." A prayer from the heart for sure, and after a little explaning on my actual name, we had a super spirtual lesson, and all 3 of the kids accepted a date for baptizm for the 5th of October! 

El Fin

With this coming Thursday, I hit a different time mark, that being my 20th birthday! Yes, that sounds old and yes it's werid to be leaving the teens behind forever, but I have learned a lot in this past year, and I can't wait for the next year to come. The mission has been the best experience of my life, and I can't wait to see what else Heavenly Father has ready for me in the year to come.
