Happy Halloween to all of you out there in the States! Over here in Mexico City it's all Dia de los Muertos, so honestly if I didn't have a calander, I wouldn't even know today was Halloween. But that's okay because I love Halloween and I think seeing
stuff would be more sad than happy. As for here it was a short week between pdays. We went to the Migration center which I'll get to but they moved the day to Friday, but now we are on a regular schedule of every Wednesday. This pday we got to go to the temple
which was really cool. We did the session in English, but next one is in Spanish so I'll keep everyone updated on how that goes. If I am being honest it's kind of hard to differentiate between days at this point, most days are just classes until 9, and then
you go home. That being said, there have been some cool experiences.
¡ Contact !
Earlier in the week we had our first "contacting" experience with people who came into the CCM from Mexico City. If you every want to destroy your confidence about your Spanish, try talking with some Latinos. I would ask a question, and then after a machine-gun
like response would just shake my head and say "si". But, me and my companion did have a really good conversation with this lady named Hermana Rodriguez. We talked to her for 15 minutes, and she went on to bear her testimony about how it was 2 missionaries
like me and my companion who baptized her 21 years ago. Experiences like that are why missionary work matters.
Dehydration at Migration
Okay so I am kind of running out of time to write here so I'll keep this one short. Basically, 7 hours in a city where I couldn't even read the billboards. Also no water, no food. Also I was number 179 to be helped and when we got there they were only
on 68. Veryyyy long few hours, but hey I can stay in Mexico now so that's nice.
Conclusion
Life over here is repetitive but in a strangely entertaining way. You form a relationship with the other Elders that is really special, and I am really enjoying it. It's all about finding the joy in the work, and realizing how big of a blessing the gospel
is. Hope you all have a good week, and I'll see you all later!
Kindest regards,
Elder Jackson
