I have thinking about you a lot this week as I have started this journey. It's crazy to think you did this same thing not too long ago, and I am honored to be in the same place you were at one point. I will always appreciate the example
you set for me all growing up, and hope I can serve like you. I am sorry to hear about the illness-ridden Thanksgiving, but I hope besides that it was good. Also so happy for Josh, just wish the team was there with him. I have been thinking about him a lot
as luck would have it, David Suerez, the one who was on the lone peak basketball team, was with me on the way off here. He is suppose to go to Brazil, but his visa got denied so for now me and him are in the same mission! Crazy huh. He speaks English so it
was nice having him there as a little bit of a saftey net. My companion, Elder Reyes, is an incredible nice Latino who wants to work just like me. I think we are going to get along really well, and am excited to see what we can do together. My Spanish is actually
suprisingly good for only 6 weeks, and I feel like I can talk to him pretty well. I am not sure yet about the locals, but one thing is for sure, the gift of tounges is real. I know I will have the help that I need if I stay obidient and diligent, so for now
those are the goals. I look forward to telling you more about everything as it happens, and hope you know I think and miss you guys all the time. Thank you for all that you have done for me, and for all the prayers. I have defifinetly felt their impact on
the work over here. I hope you have a great week, and I can't way to talk to you more! Te amo padre.
Your son,
Elder Jackson
